The more you play a raw neck, the better it feels.  Don't worry about it.  My canary neck has only been touched by naphtha and cotton rags (and my hands of course), and the relief hasn't budged in over six months.
 
Well, I WAS leaning towards that but think I'll go for a wenge and ebony neck as put in this thread from the showcase to keep costs down. I'm gonna build Phrygian's guitar for him! ;)
