Tele Deluxe

Here's a tele deluxe that I finally got around to completing.

The lacquer has had about a year to cure, and took to the buffing wheel quite well.
I finally got to get it all together over the weekend, and have had a hard time putting it down.

The pickups are GFS Lipstick Humbuckers, and at $40.00 a piece, are fantastic.  Really a lot of character.
There is a series/parallel push-push on each volume, a coil split on the lead tone, and a phase push-push on the rhythm tone.
The bride is a Callaham.

The body and neck were picked up over a year ago in the showcase during the last sale.
The body is 3lb 5oz 2 piece swamp ash.

Fantastic guitar.

Very sexy guitar - I'm a sucker for Sttrat headstocks with Tele bodies.  Did you finish the neck yourself as well?

Thanks.  Makes me wish I had put it together sooner.

I finished the neck using a satin pre-catalyzed lacquer called MagnaMax.
It's tougher than nitro, and makes a great satin.
Very slick.

I wanted to try it on a neck, and am quite happy with it.

For color, it's just a mix of yellow and brown dies mixed into the first coat.

I'm a big fan of heavily rolled edges, so finishing it myself was the only option.
