Tele build

With Barn Door I ordered a set of matched P90s, the Bridge is a bit mellower than the bridge and seems to have a softer edge, but the Bridge is fat and snaps when attacked.

So... um... how many bridges do you have on that guitar? I only see one <grin>

I've heard nothing but good things about Lollars, too. I have yet to use any, but I imagine I'm going to have to one of these days, if for no other reason than to say I did. I'm not sure how much good talking to the guy would do, but I haven't had that experience either, so I can't really say. But, in my experience, talking about tone is like dancing about architecture, which is kinda pointless. It would be interesting to hear how he pulls out the information he needs to get you what you want.

A buddy of mine has Lollar humbuckers in his ES-335 and they are sweet! Still, next time you are looking for a pickup it might be worth a $30 gamble on GFS - you could get a very pleasant surprise...

That's what I figured. At the price, even if you hated the things and had to fling them at the wall or give them away, how much can you lose? Luckily, I was very pleasantly surprised.

researching for a set of pickups for my new build I found this guy wanting 165 for each tele pu
at 30 bucks I may just try the ones mentioned, I mean that"s cheap
Also, Fender sells theirs for 65, and some of those are CS PUs. like the twisted tele neck PU

teletuby...really...

Not sure if I'm missing something in the conversation here :)  But as far as GFS pickups go, unless you try the $30 gamble you will never know. I had never even heard of them a year ago but they will be among my first choice now.

GFS has some damn good pups for their prices, I've got two different sets, and both kick ass.. :icon_thumright:

As far as our conversation...I was making fun of his screen name... :laughing11:

It took a few iterations on the pups and wiring to get where I wanted but I now call it DONE!

I forgot about how wacky the picture sizes end up here. I did these at 50%.
