Well this is going to be a "throw me a bone" thread.

I am interested in doing a swamp ash guitar. I want to dye said guitar some sort of color, so a transparent finish. That's pretty much all I have in mind, I am really open to anything.

So anyone wanna throw up some pictures of swamp ash guitars that you like? I have been searching and found a few cool ones, but hey, it's easy to miss awesome ones.

This Warwick was the inspiration for my jazz bass build ....

And the build itself.

There is an alternative which I've used .  Seal the wood first then shoot translucent color over the top , then clear coat .  The advantage is if you ever want/need to refinish , the stain isn't IN the wood.

I've done several swap ash builds and on occasion it is not always so cooperative with stains in terms of uniform absorbtion.
