This place has some killer deals on unfinished Gibson LP's and SG's...Everything is mostly mahogany, but killer to say the least... :icon_thumright:

I've seen a few of those. Considered it, but I've got to have money to buy things :P
Get your lazy ass off the computer and get outside and mow some lawns...When I was your age, I was out busting my ass making money... :laughing7:

that's not that great a deal - the buy it nows are around $600, and they're just stripped special faded bodies, the cheapest thing Gibson makes. Who knows how warped the necks are - and why else would they strip and resell like that? Check out the Epiphone Elitists (MIJ, discontinued) if you want a good value on a Gibson.
On the other hand, I've bought several cases and gig bags from that seller, if you combine the shipping you can get great deals there.

That's sorta true, but when you factor that the LP studio's are normally $1200. Then it could be a great deal....I hadn't really payed that close attention to see that they had been stripped. I figured maybe they were guitars that had just not been assembled. But also they mention that the guitars are in good shape and the necks have no issues.... :dontknow:

Yeah, except you can get a new LP studio for $800, and it even has pickups!  - http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Les-Paul-Studio-Electric-Guitar?sku=517030

they had a prs body and a couple of necks but no neck plates, bridges or tuners

what a way to build one that is more expensive than new

Since your cave has like 14 guitars in it, I don't think you'll mind too much!  :icon_jokercolor: :icon_jokercolor:

How's this for real cheap ?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270370609134&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:1123

It costs as much to ship the thing.

Yea, Ebay was suppose to stop all that kinda B.S. Most of the time those overseas sellers charge nothing for the item, but gig the hell out of ya for the shipping.. But I'd pay $579 for a real Gibson than $200 for one of those...

I've seen this seller for years - he makes a living buying new guitars, taking them apart and selling the pieces? It seems wierd to me, unless some of the pieces aren't "quite" factory... he's always got Fender necks, bodies, pickups, bridges etc. Can this really work? :icon_scratch:

Yes, I have picked up some great deals from this seller on Ebay as well.  One just has to be selective and bid with caution.  :evil4:
As tfarney mentioned, they take new guitars, strip em' and sell the individual pieces.  The individual parts are great value than the sum! :-\
If you are looking for just specific parts, it can be a great deal.  If you are trying to put together an entire axe, look elsewhere :icon_jokercolor:

thats a good point. i have a $500 epi G-400 with grover rotomatics on it. a new set of rotomatics here in australia costs around $110  :tard:

hence me stealing them off the epi for my current build  :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:
