suitable body wood for maple/pau ferro neck

The fatback, wow that looks like a baseball bat.  My neck has the Wolfgang countour, but feels thin to my hands.  We will see.

I wasn't suggesting the FatBack, just that he had it.  In my hands, it felt great mid neck but too fat for the "Cowboy Chording" closer to the nut.  It needed to taper off more.  However, if playing it often, it would not take much to get used to, just a weird first impression.  I like the '59 Roundback myself.

Leftybill, I have a maple / pao ferro strat too. It sounds great. Fretboard wood is way way down the list of things that will influence your sound. Nuff said.

OK, I see what you mean.  I wanted to trial a neck with a nice contour and radius, and liked the idea of Pao Ferro.
I guess that I am starting realize that I do like the sound and feel of Indian rosewood very much.
I have heard good things about the 59 round back as well.
