I fitted one to the last Warmoth I built...

Very effective...$300?...hmmm... :dontknow:

I have decided to live with the hum on my Strat!

But seems no matter how ya slice it, you're gonna lose some high end sparkle using noiseless contraptions.

I know that 60Hz hum drives some people insane, but really... if you wire/shield well and/or position yourself properly (if necessary)...
and avoid head-chopping/face-melting/mondo-compressed distortion levels (the main culprit), you should be fine.

Theoretically, this scheme shouldn't have any effect on your signal shape at all. The antenna isn't anywhere near your strings, has no coupling core, and no flux lines to cut. But, it's a static device. That is, it can't automatically compensate for changes in the circuit you apply it to. So, when adding/subtracting/changing pickups via selector switch or changing their output levels with volume/tone controls, you change the balance between those and the antenna, and the whole scheme starts to fall apart. So, once again, it's not a panacea. It's just better than nothing if ambient EMI/RFI levels are driving you nuts and you can't find a noiseless pickup that makes you happy.
