Strip of tape in control cavity - what is it for?

Hi all,

I´ve ordered a finished tlecaster body from Warmoth. There is a small strip of tape in the control cavity sticking out. Any suggestions what´s the purpose of this?

I noticed these appear at some point. My guess is some sort of ID tag.

I d agree with Identity tag that got left behind.

It's a public service piece of tape. You peel it off and stick it  to the top your cat's/dog's head. Makes 'em back up forever trying to "get away" from it, so you can get on with what you're doing without being pestered.

That is tone tape.
Gives the body 22.3% more tone.

Don't take it off.

Incidentally, you can use said "Tone Tape" to cover up the hole for the side adjust on the Warmoth Pro construction necks as the skeptics all refer this as a "Tone Leak" hole for your tone to drain out of. 

Tape up the hole there, Tornholio!!

In the immortal words of Sam J "Hold on to your ranch", or something similar.

The "tone" tape does all that is speculated. All you have to do is believe. It will launch cats to the ceiling and improve tone by 22%. Doubling the strips of tape was banned because that would send the tone to 11 and the world isn't ready.

It also covers up a small internal tracking sticker so that it doesn't get painted over and can still be read

The truth is seldom as amusing. sigh.
