Strings for baritone

You'd use a set gauged specifically for baritone.  I have a set gathering dust since my baritone project was abandoned.  Send me a private message with your address and I'll send 'em over, if you're in the US.

My acoustic baritone is strung 16-72 and tuned B to C. My electric baritone is strung with 12's (getting ready to go to 10's) and tuned down a whole step from standard tuning.

My Bari-Tele has had D'Addario .12's on it, but the standard set that I go for is the Elixer Baritone Nano-Web set with the plain 3rd string, starts at .12-.68

It's the most natural string set that I've found in transitioning from one of my standard tuning guitars to the baritone in terms of feel.

I have the elixir set on mine, but as a warning with the jazzmaster tremolo the 12 doesn’t fit the extra length. I ended up using a 13 from a Dunlop set that was shockingly long...

I’m considering trying a set from Gabriel Tenorio but haven’t pulled the trigger on that yet.

Oh yeah, I tune parallel fourths and swap my G for a wound G on the acoustic so... 5 wound, 1 plain.

Thanks. It will be a top loading hardtail.
This should be fine, I have the same on my Bari-Tele, I still have a few inches of wind left on the high B string past the tuner post.

I found this thread from doing a search on the terms 'baritone' and 'strings'. I learned a bit reading through the posts, and I thought I'd add my experiences.

My baritone is a Tele with the Warmoth 24-fret bari neck. When I first put it together, I stringed it up with a set of Ernie Ball Not Even Slinkys. I tuned the guitar A to A and found that the 6th and 3rd strings were a bit flappy feeling and sounding. They worked, but I wasn't totally sold on them.

I just stringed the baritone up with a set of D'Addario Light Baritone Strings -- the EXL158s, 13-62. These work much better with the A to A tuning. All the strings are nice and tight, but not too tight where I can't do bends easily. I am very happy with this set and these gauges. The sound of the guitar is much better now as well. The extra tension made all the difference.
