Details first...
Body - Roasted Swamp Ash (1piece)
Neck&FB - Roasted Flame Maple
Bridge - Gotoh 510
Pickups - Seymour Duncan Jazz/JB
Looking for some advice on my setup. When I first slapped the neck on and strung it up, with a very high bone nut, I quickly realized as I went up past the 12th fret I was buzzing and then totally buzzing out as I went higher. Some quick tweaking and raising the bridge studs helped but I'm still hearing some faint buzz. I've lowered the nut but we all know the upper fret buzz has zero to do with the nut height. Is it generally expected to have the bridge studs fairly elevated? If I went higher I'm sure it would resolve the buzzing but I would rather not. Maybe im overthinking this part...
That leads me to, do I need to remove material from either the neck or body at the joint if I dont want to raise the bridge? That seems crazy though.
Thoughts?
