Strat Build - Canary / Mahogany Body, Bubinga Neck

Somehow or other I missed this thread till now. Looks like another tasteful axe, I really like the look of the body.

Oh and I like the Ghosts track too  :icon_thumright:

Just picked up my latest Warmoth creation from Funky Phil who's assembled, fettled and set it up beautifully!  :headbang:

My ongoing nagging concern of the Bubinga possibly being a tad too 'red' and clashing with the 'browner' [than expected] Canary has been dispelled - I think it looks awesome with the hardware on and strung up. While the pickup covers, knobs and strap buttons are nickel, the bridge and tuners are chrome, yet both seem to work here as there's no stark difference...  :dontknow:

Not played it as yet - hands and fingers way too sticky with the heatwave that's currently occurring where I am...  :tard:

Hoping temperature cools down soon, so I can have a noodle!  :icon_scratch:

Photos will be coming soon. Planning on submitting into next months GOTM, for sure!

Looking forward to pictures.

Submitting it to GOTM? Good to know. Then I'll stay out of it ...  :laughing7:

Ha! Thanks Logrinn  :icon_thumright:

I'm both flattered and secretly happy, that you see me as competition, but less entries to compete against means I have more chance to be a winner!  :icon_biggrin:

Pics being uploaded now...

Thanks guys! Nice to see others have impeccable taste too!  :laughing7:

Yet to played amped up, but expecting good things from the DiMarzio's...

So classy. I gather the word is 'restraint'; not really familiar with it myself, but you certainly execute it with some style.

Wow! Another ultra-clean-cut beauty from Frown! You're becoming the King of the Clean Machine!
NICE!

Bagman67, Fat Pete, Great Ape, Stratamania - thanks for all the positive comments! Much appreciated! :icon_biggrin:

Just been noodling acoustically this evening [too late to power up], but have noticed it sustains really well! The setup Phil did means it rings out really clearly and for quite some time - surprised me a bit!

I think if it's bright here tomorrow, I'll do some family shots of all my Warmoth builds so far, for posterity.

I'm usually not too fond of Canary, but that is one beautiful guitar. Very classy looking.  :icon_thumright:

Thanks BigSteve22!

I must admit, Canary appeals to me, but only if the grain is straight. For some reason I've never been overwhelmed by the swirly colouring in some examples. However, when I saw this top I couldn't stop myself!

Frown, I just checked out the links in your signature. I see you have a history of producing simple, beautiful instruments. Very nice work!

Thanks man, I have a few more build ideas up my sleeve yet...  :icon_biggrin:

Haha, thanks Logrinn!

I apply my 'less is more' approach to my logo / design work as well as my guitar builds!  :icon_thumright:
