I'm thinking of using these on a build and have a few questions I hope you guys might help me with...

I know a few of you use these and most of the feedback seems positive but I've seen a few comments around t'interweb suggesting that they're fragile and/or that the locking isn't reliable on the plain strings. It does also seem that these issues could be due to 'user error'. So, thoughts from long-term users? Sixstringsamurai?

How about vendors? It seems that Stewmac are the only option. Anybody aware of any other sellers? Especially any in Europe?

Lastly, for now, there are a lot of pics like the ones below showing the tuners with different top locks. I'm guessing these are OEM variants - anyone know otherwise?

There's a  learning curve, but they're not rocket science either.

I have them on my most recent build, no slippage issues, I use 10-46 roller wound nickles.

I dig the accuracy, fragile, it's like any thing, as long as you're careful...

I have this style:

Of course since this pic was taken I have given in to my OCD and re adjusted them so they all run parallel when locked....

About drove me mental....

Thanks for the info.

And thanks for sowing that seed!

Did you get yours from Stewmac?

Do you remember which size tuner ream you have? The installation instructions seem a bit 'variable'.
