I'm pivoting away from a Velocity project and am moving into a new direction inspired by my latest amp build and all of my neighbor's redonk vintage strats - not to mention
Surf N Strat's beaut!

Warmoth Seafoam Green with F-hole + Parchment guard (HSS)
********* Vintage Maple/RW neck, v-c profile, 9.5", SS6150, heavy rolled fingerboard edges, 22 fret, Kluson/Gotoh Staggered Height Vintage Tuners, 1.65" Graphtech nut
New Fender American Standard Trem with "vintage" bent steel saddles
2x Bare Knuckle 59 Slab Boards (parchment), 1 Abraxas (nickel)

Stoked!

Haha I like your style!  :icon_thumright: She is gonna be a beaut. I got a set of 59 slab boards in my tobacco burst strat. I love em. Where you getting the neck from for the heavy rolled edges? Is this thing ordered?!?

Ha I knew u would!

I have been stuffing the 63 veneers in all of my builds for the past 3 years. Simply amazing!  I think the 59s will be even better, which is hard to imagine.

The body and neck are indeed ordered. The neck is coming from Musikraft.

Stoked too!  Will def keep the pics flowing like wine and cheese.

MK does really good work, too. Would like to keep it all in the W fam, but need some options that W doesn't do. It's always a compromise. MK doesn't do vintage truss adjustable at the headstock, like W does. Looks like I'm a heel guy on this one.

That'll look great. Looking forward to seeing it go together. What kind of wood in the body?

No harm in different necks. There is this one guy on ebay I follow. He only puts out a few every now and then but they are some serious nice wood. I keep getting tempted when a nice one comes along.

Rgand - alder. Been a long time since I had an alder strst. Been on mahogany for the past several years.

Surf n Music - indeed man. I've seen a few mean bodies there, as well.  There's a few guys making really nice parts. The warranty thing is what gets me, but nice wood is nice wood and there are some talented luthiers on the bay.

After all this exposure to naturally relic'd and aged guitars, I've been thinking of finishes that wear gracefully. I've seen some cool old seafoam and surf green strats out there that look amazing with wear, so I look at this new build as something of a legacy instrument that I could pass onto someone I care for when the time comes. Kind of morose, but it's on my mind.  Caveat - I think Warmoth's finishes are fairly bullet proof compared to the old nitro finishes of yesteryear haha.

Uhmmm. Copycat!!! LOL Just kidding man.

I've always dug that surf green Strat of Surf's. This'll be a killer too. You guys should plan a get-together for a jam with those when you get it done Frank.

Guilty as charged???  :icon_biggrin:

I have. A feeling he's blow me out of the water haha. I could stand some surfing lessons though.  :help:

Hhaha you guys. I am stoked to see another. Obviously I love the combo! I'll admit I have a hard time playing with others. That is why I always play fingerstyle stuff. It sounds semi decent playing alone. Guitar is how I get my relaxing zen on  :)

Any time ya in Santa Cruz and want to surf let me know. I am beyond busy with nursing school but only 8 months till I am a free man. Got plenty of boards.

Thanks. I was curious. Nice and light. Alder is a good choice but then so is mahogany, just different.

Yeah man. I'm really focusing on the vintage theme as much as possible.  Alder body coupled to a maple/rw neck with vintage, single truss rod. The truss rod makes such a huge difference when you're plugging into vintage styled amps with a minimal of gain stages.
