Standard Thin 1.650 Nut width?

Hello guys! I had a Warmoth standard thin profile with a 1-11/16 inch nut width, found out that was not my cup of tea. I found it bit too wide on the upper frets. Now I’m wondering getting a standard thin with a 1.650 inch nut width or perhaps 1-5/8 inch nut width? My question is, has anybody tried these different combinations before and willing to enlighten me a little bit? Thanks happy new year!

I can't imagine a few thousandths of an inch at the nut making too much of a difference at the upper frets. I would tend to think bridge saddle spacing would impact that more. What type of guitar/bridge are you dealing with?
Hi there, thanks for the input! I believe I’m dealing with a vintage style bridge 6 points, it’s a Strat.

Oh it does matter. The sensitivity of touch is extremely high. You can fudge nut width with neck depth, but to only a small degree.

Specifically, what bridge did you use? What’s the “mounting” hole spread? What’s the “saddle” spread?

I ask as every interaction has probably been used.

Your photos didn't show. If I had to guess, it's the forum's limitation on size. I usually resize my phone photos to 40% before adding to a post here.

Edit: Never mind. Let me check those measurements ... 😉

67.93 - 11.21 = 56.72.
56.72 / 25.4 = 2.2331
"Vintage" spacing is typically 2-7/32" - 2.2188
I'd call it "Vintage" spacing. You should be able to find a bridge with 2-1/16" saddle spacing. To me, that would make more of a difference than a narrower nut.

You’re measuring the wrong things. You need to measure low E saddle to high e saddle. That’s bridge spacing.
Next measure middle high e to middle B slots. Repeat ad nauseum

Now measure the distance between the centers of your outer mounting screws.

This all matters. The 1st item determines if this may be root issue (vintage 2 7/32 is wide) Next determines what saddles will work.

Following that is what bridges meet that criteria.

If I had to guess : you have 2 7/32 on both mounting and bridge. Callaham has a bridge that mounts a smaller bridge to the larger mounting spacing, while using the smaller saddle spacings.
