Staining and Spraying Handle

I wasn't sure if I should use the neck screw holes to attach the handle or drill one in the middle... I drilled it in the middle just off of the glue joint of the two piece alder body. I didn't want to risk splitting the body, if that's even possible.

The blue tape isn't there for the stain but to avoid sand sealer and nitro build up in the pickup cavities.

Cheers,
Alex

Yikes, we always, always use two of the screw holes rather than drill a big, fifth hole. I hope that doesn't come back to bite you later on. Don't panic though, it'll probably be fine. But don't do it again!  :eek:ccasion14:

I did do some research and found that folks either use the existing neck holes or drill a fifth one. I figure it will be covered by the neck on one side and the neck plate on the other. The reason I drilled a fifth one was to make the body a little lighter. Just kidding. I was concerned that I wouldn't get any sand sealer and nitro build up under the bolt head. I'm a first time builder so everything is new to me.

Cheers,
Alex
