I am a little bit surprised to see that Sperzel's 6 in-line locking tuners with stagger are sold so cheap at Stewmac (49€) while Allparts has them for nearly $100, and most dealers in my area sell them around 100€ as well.

Anyone know if they are the same, and if this is one of those rare cases where stewmac sells something for cheaper than most other places?

In my experience, Allparts is usually quite pricey for anything that isn't a capacitor.  And even for caps, they are high - but non-specialty-snake-oil caps cost nearly nothing even from the ripoff artists.  Doesn't surprise me that Allparts is more expensive than StewMac for some stuff.  I find StewMac pricing to be in line with many retailers on guitar parts -- it's their specialized tools that are stratospherically priced.  Why?  Competition.  Lots of folks offer tuners, but nobody but StewMac offers many of the tools they supply.

You have a point, Allparts may not be the best point of comparison. And I didn't mean to badmouth stewmac, it's just that I was surprised that this particular item is half the price of what I can get if for in my area, while the price of most other common items is more or less the same.

Allparts doesn't appear to want to do business with the general public. I think they're more a dealer supply distributor. They'll do counter sales if you ask, but it's priced to discourage that trade.

StewMac's pricing on hardware changes with the wind on some items. Hardware such as tuners, bridges, etc. are not always good. For instance, look at their gold parts. They charge a huge premium for that stuff, as if there's an ounce of gold on those parts instead of the few atoms thickness worth of plating, while everybody else charges an appropriate $10 or $20 bump.

Yep the same  :icon_thumright: .... 6 in line or 3 x 3

**BUT NOTE ** ..... they are all Satin finished.
(that could be why they are a bit cheaper)  :dontknow:

So I get them here, when getting other stuff.

I'm okay with the satin finish, as I'm likely to put them on a Strat with a Wilkinson trem. Thanks for the link though, it might be handy later!

There's still the guy on Ebay, selling them for $50. He raided the Washburn factory somehow and got hundreds. And since they're reversible, it doesn't matter if they're left or right or 3X3, just fix 'em.
