PRS makes some the best looking guitars around.  The thing that has held me back was I was never in love with the neck profiles.  Damn.

Enjoy....she is a beauty

I don't get the one pup uncovered and one covered. Kinda looks stooooooooooooooopid to me.   Other than that I like 'em..

Tremonti removed his cover on the bridge for an undisturbed signal. Naturally, the company made that into a signature trademark to sell more guitars to Creed fanboys.

Not a hard fix if you hate it, of course.

Well there's no real evidence to conclude covered or uncovered makes any difference at all. So it sounds like more of a marketing ploy to lure in the squids.. But yes and easy fix non the less..

Of course it's a ploy, it doesn't improve the tone much or everyone would be doing it, although I believe Ken has talked about the effects of nickel(?) pickup covers.

It depends on what the covers are made of and/or plated with. Brass, nickel and gold are non-ferrous, and have no effect. Chromium will. So, a nickel, nickel plated or gold plated brass cover won't have an effect, but chrome plated steel or brass will. Of course, wood and plastic will not.

The effect it has is to roll off the highs very slightly due to eddy currents in the cover. It's not something you'd really hear, but the effect does take place. So, of course the fanatics and zealots blow it all out of proportion and take heroic steps to remove their covers and point out why: their ears are so much better than yours.

Back 100 years ago, we used to pull covers because they often made the pickups microphonic. They usually weren't potted back then. Today, there's no reason for it unless you've got some ultra-cheap Chinese part that didn't get potted.

Metal Works EMGs, or just a cover?

Y'all know me well.  :laughing7:

Metal Works EMGs, brushed chrome 85 for the neck, brushed black chrome 81 for the bridge to keep the Tremonti color scheme.
