Some projects - non-Warmoth wood porn

My first ever bass is finished.
Two schoolboy errors - bridge saddles too close together for the J pu and I broke the original control cavity cover and had to make another.
Plays well, sounds good, active EQ gives it some balls.

Thanks. I'm enjoying trying my hand at playing bass, now.

I like the strat output jack on the plate.
Seems impractical to me to be honest. I don't want to feel that jack plug rubbing against my belly.

That part of the guitar is beyond my right hip for me. YMMV.

Here's the bass in action. The rest is my explorer (details in signature) - http://www.foxden.plus.com/mp3s/504_vaish.mp3
(I posted recently without bass and withdrew it).

Latest thoughts on the tele are cream P90s, maybe from Wizard or Gemini, and a cut down tele bridge...

I think that depends on how one holds a guitar (high on the strap, resting on the leg while seated, hanging almost to the floor...), but I see that and think it's BRILLIANT!  I'm using that.  I dunno when, but my next project gets that style of jack.  Good Job to the max!

Wow, forgot about this one, looks like it turned out great...Pretty cool coloration.... :icon_thumright:

At long last finished this one as well...

Sorry for the blurry pics. Will try to take some in daylight at the weekend if there's interest.

What does that thing weight in at???

I'm sorry, but it looks like firewood to me. I'd take the ancient hardware off and pitch it, then burn the body/neck in a raucous summertime drinking party bonfire. It's neither attractive or practical. It is unusual, but so is cholera. Wouldn't want that, either.

Hehe! Yeah, I should probably just keep my stupid mouth shut. Poor guy probably busted his ass on it, and here I am smacking it down. I'm sure he thinks it's great, and simply wants to share his joy. So, my apologies to all, especially DJF67.

I will love him, and pet him, and call him "George"!

Nevermind Cagey, he's training for the whine and cheese olympics. Not my bag of tea, as in it doesn't scream
To me "YOU HAVE TO BUILD ME", but man what a great hunk o lumber, and a ballsy concept, well executed. The use of endgrain is original (can only remember having seen it on IKEAcasters) and the workmanship looks clean. The only beef I have is the maple neck. You NEED A RAW EXOTIC. all Padouk seems appropriate too...

Well done!
