Solid vs. chambered... Opinions?

I'm working on ideas for a Tele build. I like all kinds of rock but I'm also in love with Brad Paisley's tone. I'm intrigued by Warmoth's description of the chambered body construction, esp. regarding increased sustain, as I find my current Warmoth solidbody somewhat lacking in the sustain department. What's the consenus here on the pros and cons of chambered construction vs. regular solid? Would I still get all the snap and spank of a solidbody with a chambered one? I don't mind the tone being slightly more open as long it doesn't sound like a Thinline.

I have three chambered bodies here, but only the two Strats are in service. They both sound great. Chambering them doesn't change the sound much, if at all, at least electrically. Acoustically, they seem to be a tad louder, but it's tough to say. I think it's more of a weight advantage than anything else.

I like the idea of chambering a LP body to reduce weight.
I really haven't found any reason to chamber a Strat or Tele.
