If you are planning on having a custom label made to apply under your lacquer finish I suggest you give these a try. I just finished rubbing out the headstock on T50’s guitar.  I was able to bury his decal in the lacquer with out the edge showing. The decals were harder to apply than others I have used but because they were so thin I could get them to look like they were a part of the finish. http://www.bedlamcreations.com/  They were printed on "Thin Blue Decal Paper"

Those do look really thin. The labels on my guitars show a little but not a big deal. Wouldn't mind going with these next time though.
