I'm surprised at how FEW people are posting pics of their gifts!  :toothy12:

This is an unusually classy public forum. Be thankful.

I scored an unfinished Agile LP from Rondo music for $125.  My son wants to give it shot.  Came with hardware and everything.  We are grind to pull out the router and turn it into a Florentine.

Build thread to follow. :party07:

Also a super sweet damascus steel knife kit with the knife, bookmatched stabilized buckeye blanks for the handle, and interesting mosaic pins.

Pics!

Not quite sure what being a classy forum has to do with posting some pics of Xmas?  :icon_scratch:

But yes, this is a very classy public forum!

I got an eviction notice from my homeowner. I have to move out on very short notice and I didn't do anything wrong. He just wants the property back (and he's claiming rights he doesn't have by Dutch law). I have to go to a 'law-shop' to get advice but during christmas, everything is closed down.

Merry christmas, you filthy animal. And a happy new year!

My very close friends got the same new from their landlord, he's selling, now they have to move in a short time too, with a one year old.

I feel for you, hopefully you can battle it out in your favor.

I got this nifty little laptop computer from two of my best friends. It's come in very handy as I've been in the hospital since November 16th. I got pneumonia in September, spent the first week of October in the hospital, got released and then the nasty little bacterium made a dramatic comeback. In  my arrogance (or ignorance) I let it go, thinking I was getting better, only very slowly.
Finally, I relented and went to the emergency room, found myself very quickly checked in, went under the knife the next morning and have been recovering since. Needless to say, this kept me off the Internet and worse, away from this forum.
I am recovering very well, they tell me, and I should find out this week or next when we can move onto the next step in my recovery, which involves more surgery. With any luck at all, I should be back home and returning to work by the end of January.
I hope you all had a better Christmas than I and that your New Year's celebrations don't involve hospitals.

Get well soon, Dan!  Well wishes for 2014!  :party07:

I went through a similar thing some years back, but with only one (2 month long) trip to the hospital. Colds/flu usually stick with me a little longer than one might expect since I'm a smoker, so I tend to ignore/treat symptoms rather than get proper help when I should. Very nearly killed me that time. I'm short part of my right lung now as a result, and have scars that make me look like somebody did an autopsy on me with a chainsaw. Moral of the story is: don't mess with pulmonary problems. Breathing is important.

Get well soon, and take care of yourself.

Thank you, Cagey. I have learned that breathing is both enjoyable and important.

Mine's similar to your experience. Right lung, lost 2 ribs and 30% of the lower lobe. The best part is that I'm no longer a smoker. I had been a regular smoker  since the late 80s, and had been psyching up to quit for a couple of years now. Once I saw the X-rays and CT scans and there is no sign of cancer or heart disease, it was  easy to make the decision. Quit now. The cool thing is I have no desire to smoke! I believe I have kicked the addiction this time and have the strength of will to make it stick. I do like being alive.

Plus, the money I was spending on cigarettes can now go to the Brutal Legend Flying V project once I get the hell out of here!

Well, that and medical bills!

Happy New Year.

I didn't lose any ribs, but I broke two coughing, then they had to crack two more operating on me. Never thought such a thing was possible, but I understand it's not uncommon.

As foolish as it is, I still smoke. You'd think after narrowly escaping death and laying in a hospital for two months unable to smoke that quitting would be a no-brainer and as easy as making fun of Obama. I mean, there was no physical addiction left by any stretch of the imagination. But, I think I waited all of 3.9 seconds after I left the hospital to light the first one.

On the plus side, I smoke less than a carton a month, which is good, if any kind of smoking can be called "good".

Very nice!

For Xmas 2010, my wife got me one of those "gig packs" that came with a "J-Bass," Fender "Rumble" 15w amp, strap, cd, etc.  For the price, it's a real nice package, and the quality of the bass is surprisingly decent.
