small bass amps?

I'm planning on buying/building myself a pretty standard, cheap jazz bass. And then I realized I would need a bass amp too  :doh:

So, I need suggestions for an inexpensive bass amp. It should be small-- this will never be gigged with, I just want to be able to play and record bass at home. I really don't know basses well at all, so my standards aren't too high. I just want a decent small combo amp.

Thoughts?

My brother got a squier bass of freecycle, and he doesn't have a bass amp. My Line 6 doesn't work too well with the bass.

Get one of the new small traynors.  They're small, cheap, and available in a bunch of wattage/price points.  Even the smallest one sounds pretty good!
