Silly humbucker wiring question

Hi all,

When I look at most of the HxH/3-Way switch wiring diagrams out there, I usually see the hot wire going to the 3-Way switch, and the ground going to the pot.  But then I also see the 3-Way switch also being grounded to the pot.  Is there any reason not to connect the ground wires to the switch, then only have one hot and one ground wire going from the switch cavity to the pot?

I ask this because I have a doubleneck, and the upper 3-way switch is close to the pickups, but a foot away from the control cavity.

Thanks!

AFAIK as long as all the grounds get together there shouldn't be a problem. It's not like a power amplifier where that might be super important.
I'll probably be corrected by someone that actually knows all about circuits & all that though.

That's correct. As long as you hit ground somewhere in there, you're good to go. The oft-spoken fear of "ground loops" in a guitar is beyond baseless and well into stupid. Not sure where the idea that such a thing could exist in a guitar ever came from in the first place.
