Short-scale bass question.

Is it necessary to use the Warmoth short-scale bass bodies to put together a short-scale bass, or can any bass body take a short-scale neck?

Warmoth Short Scale necks will only work with Warmoth Short Scale bodies. The bridge and pickup locations are different than a standard bass.  :headbang:

Just as importantly, the neck heel and body pocket on the short scale line is smaller than the 34" bodies and necks.

If there is a specific shape that you want for your short scale bass, don't hesitate to call them up and ask if it can be done. You may be pleasantly surprised. The've taken seven string guitar bodies and routed them for six strings, and they've done five string jaguar basses. None of these features are on the website.
