well, it's going to take me a while to finish this thing since i am 17, dirt poor and i am going to university in September so i probably wont have any money to finish this thing for a while....

also do any of you guys have any suggestions on pickups, how to wire it and how i should finish it(probably danish oil)

Pickups:-  1/4pounder SD for the P bass, SD 1/4pounder bridge and a Jazz model bucker in the neck.

Wiring:-  Standard tele wiring, only use concentric pots and have the top sections for the P bass.

Finish:-  Don't let your girlfriend near it.  :laughing7:

PUs - I haven't tried them yet, but based on my experience with the Jazz Bass I just finished I'd recommend trying the Rio Grande Muy Grande P-Bass for the Bass side; RG TX HB for guitar neck, Muy Grande or Dirty Harry bridge.

Wiring - Never did a double neck; maybe just 500K Vol/Tone pot and use a 5-way switch to toggle guitar/bass?

Finish - Sky's the limit, that's nice looking swamp ash; what wood(s) for necks and color hw are you planning on?

Cool finally someone got a double......I so badly want to do a double tele....., but no bass Ima do a 6/12 combo.... :icon_thumright:

I'd do a 6/10 combo, bich style!

For the guitar side of your axe, may I humbly recommend a DiMarzio Tone Zone T for the bridge and an Air Norton for the neck slot.

Why the hell would he use dominoe's for pup's......... :toothy12:

so it's a bass and guitar doubleneck? I don't really understand those. Do you use 2 amps and a A/B switch or what?

it was a little of a impulse buy....got it for $99 dollars , heck of a deal...

can somebody tell me if this a good finish choice for it?

i like the Red Mahogany

for the neck i will eventualy buy a exotic for the guitar side ( any suggestions)

and probably a mape/roesewood neck for the bass side

Sweet axe(s)!!

But I'm confused about the bridge pickup on the guitar... that's a Tele rout.  Are you gonna put a Tele pickup in there?  If so, how?

And even more confusing... the bass is top routed and the guitar is rear routed.  What's going on?

>>>>>>Are you gonna put a Tele pickup in there?  If so, how?
it's routed for a tele bridge

>>>>>>>>>the bass is top routed and the guitar is rear routed.  What's going on?
i think that is why it was only $99 on the showcase,,,,,i am planning to either just mount the bass pickup with the route that is there OR make my own pickguard or get terrapane pickguards to custom make me one.....

also the bass side is routed for a gotoh 206 that has been discountinued..,, so does anyboy have suggestions where i can get a gotoh 206 or another bridge that will cover up the holes  already drilled???  i have seen bridges in a local shop that should do the job but i want your sugestions,,, :) :)

<<<<<<Both sides certainly look rear-routed to me.

i think he was talking about the bass pickup route....i think they a tad oversized for use with a pickguard

BOTH bass and guitar are rear-routed; nice looking swamp ash, no need to use a pickguard; Pbass pickup gets mounted to wood; Tele HB with mounting ring; Thle bridge PU in Tele string through bridge.

You can use the WATCO product to finish, do you planon filling the grain?

Giving what I would think would be typical usage of a bass/guitar doubleneck (not much if any mid-song switching) given the routing, the simplest way to wire it up would be using this Start V-T-5way diagram; you;d have to decide which position you wanted the bass pickup in, but just wire the 3 pickups to get them at the positions you want:

THAT'S going to be an interesting project - looking forward to it's development path. No shortage of advice/help, either  :icon_biggrin:

There's no control route on the bass side but if you look at the pickup routes, they're the oblong ones used on top-routes, not the tight-fitting ones used on rear-routes.
