SG control option.

actually I saw one of these at GC last night and it looked kinda cool. With the shape of the carved top that really is the only placement possible, that being said they were all in funky colors and woods as well as w 2k plus price tag so no thanks!!!!

Use the "no controls" option when ordering and do what you like.  It's not that hard to drill a round hole, did it on Blue, wish I would have done it on Burn Unit for a slightly different knob location.

3 & 5-way blade switches are another story, leave that to the pros!!

On the question of properly drilling holes for pots and switches, can I ask:

"How do you do the Jaguar and larger Mustang switch routs?"  :dontknow: I've butchered about 3 Jazzmaster pickguards trying to do those slide switches! :icon_scratch:

Pickguards are soft, so if you're patient it's easy. Outline the exact hole you want with masking tape, then follow inside the outline, making a slightly smaller hole with an Exacto knife. Go really SLOWLY, cutting short-stroke scratches, then a little bit deeper... once it gets deep enough you can bear down some. Not lots, just some. Once you're through, any sort of combination of small files - needle files, nail files etc - and sandpaper wrapped around sticks and stuff will finish it. It may take an hour per hole, but - so? Work three hours to make enough money to pay somebody to do it, so you can go watch TV for an hour.... :icon_scratch:

(Sandpaper shrapnel likes to scratch things where you don't want :sad1:, so that bears attention)
