Semi-hollow body guitar woods?

Well, the original item is made of maple plywood front and back, with a maple block up the middle.  THe maple plywood thing is only partly a joke - they laminated layers of maple in a press to mold the arch shape.

Maple or Mahogany  .  My Gibson CS-356 uses Mahogany body/neck and a flamed maple carved top.
My ES -339 like all ES's is laminated maple , as is my Gretsch 6122-1959 Country Gentleman .

The mahogany gives a bit more warmth and sustain .

personally, i've always wanted to try a semi-hollow using bubinga.  Something about the idea just seems magical.  XD
