My first build I didn’t know about this forum so I just posted the result. For this build I’m going to post along the way.

I went to Texas A&M and I’m an Aggie through and through, so I’m going to build an Aggie maroon and white baritone. I already have a Warmoth maple baritone neck. Warmoth Maple telecaster body is ordered.

The top will be Australian Red Gum Burl, epoxy floated (black) and stained maroon.

Here is the two piece top after joining and glue up. Each hole was filled with bark I had to remove with a Dremel and Dental tools.

Your first build was so cool, really excited to see this one shape up too!

Very cool ! Your first build was awesome and turned me onto the idea of using Rubio on a guitar. Can't wait to see this one.
Rubio 2C Red Velvet looks to be a very close match to Aggie Maroon on my test on the Australian Red Gum. On the back, I'm not sure if I will use Rubio White on the maple or try a maroon and white crackle paint finish. It will depend on the tests.

Although Rubio is thought of as an expensive finish on furniture, you use so little on a guitar body its actually very cheap.

I lived in Australia for 5 years. 1 in Sydney, 4 in Adelaide, so I wanted to do an Aussie wood.
