Schaller tuners hole size ?

I want to get some schaller staggered tuners for my guitar. They say a 10mm 13/32 hole is required though the warmth site says 11/32 hole sized is drilled. What can i do will there be a huge difference or will they just about fit ?

The Schallers Warmoth is talking about drilling for are the "Mini-Lockers", which may be different from what you have. I use Schallers almost exclusively these days, and Warmoth's holes are perfect. The tuner is tight to the point where you can't quite push them through until the tuner body is flush to the back of the headstock. You have to either draw them the rest of the way down using the threaded ferrules that hold them in place, or perhaps using a clamp to squeeze them down in. But, that's how you want your tuners to mount - tight. Otherwise, they'll tend to absorb string vibrations, which has a slight deadening effect.

The tuners I'm looking at are 13/32. The warmth site says that the holes drilled are 11/32, 25/64. Is 25/64 pretty much the same as 13/32 ? It also says that the holes they drill for gotoh turns fits 13/32 and 11/32 so does that mean the 11/32 i have will fit the 13/32 ?

No. Maybe this page will make things clearer for you. As you can see, the Schaller holes are stepped - that's why they call out two dimensions. If you want 13/32" holes, then It sounds like what they'd drill for Planet Waves tuners.

http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tuners/Guitar,_solid_peghead_tuners/Schaller_Tuners/Schaller_Locking_Guitar_Machines_6-In-Line.html will these fit ? All schallers on the stew mac website say 13/32 ?

Those will fit. They'll be tight, but they'll fit. Also, if you're thinking of buying gold ones, don't get them from StewMac. Those guys are nuts on their gold plated parts pricing. Get 'em from Warmoth instead.

The staggered locker tuners I got from GFS called out for 10mm holes but on the advice of Warmoth I got the Schaller tuner holes and they fit great. Anything bigger and they would have been floating around in the hole. I'd check with Warmoth and see what they have to say for the specific tuners you are getting.

Here are the ones I got http://www.guitarfetish.com/Now-STAGGERED-Gotoh-style-Locking-Tuners-Sperzel-Style-String-Lock-_p_514.html

13/32 is 1/64" bigger than 25/64. (26/64ths vs 25/64ths). That's about the thickness of a typical business card.

1/64ths is a pretty small difference and probably would not cause you problems with tuners since tuners clamp to both sides of the headstock.

StewMac is notoriously wrong on their parts dimensions.  Trust the measurements from Warmoth (but not warmth)

No kidding. I'll second that. Even things where dimensions are hyper-critical, like neck pocket templates, they're off.

Tell me you people don't get a WARM fuzzy feeling from doing business with Warmoth?
