Wow....sad day. Already playin' with Buck again, I reckon.

Alas, it looks like he really is gone:

One of my earliest memories was watching Hee Haw as a small boy.  Good times.

CNN, Fox, etc. are reporting it, too. Guess what, folks - they could all be wrong, and they've been wrong before.

Never my fav guitarist , but one of those few you recognize as:
“Crap, He’s really good. “
And when I say that, i mean in the top 1%.
He had extreme skill, ability, and moreso, obvious joy in playing.  Who could ask for more.

Without a doubt, a great guitarist and a personality to remember. RIP.

I guess we'll really know when they broadcast his funeral.

Around here, many of the country cats refer to dead players thusly:
"He's playing lead for Jesus now".

I grew up listening to him.  Every Sunday watched hee haw with my dad. Laughed at the absurd jokes, checked out the girls,  that's over a quarter century ago, when I practiced today I played Folsom prison blues.... First snow of the season is falling outside my window, it's quiet outside , makes my mind wander ... RIP Mr. Clark.

The article claiming it to be a hoax is dated yesterday, while the reports from the major news organizations are dated today. I don't have any more information than you guys, but my guess is that, being 85 with pneumonia, 'at death's door' or 'not expected to survive the night' got somehow turned into 'has died' which was then challenged, but ended up coming true the next day.

A hell of a display of Roy's versatility here, doing a Hank Williams tune in full-blast jazzbo mode with the departed and lamented Joe Pass:

For those who remember, Roy and Gatemouth Brown won a Grammy for their jazz/blues/country fusion album "Makin' Music". Most tunes were recorded in one take, and the playing of the whole band is on the money. Of course, Roy and Gatemouth were both having a great time trading licks.
