Interested in re-routing a  Warmoth Tele neck for a Mini Humbucker. I do own a router with a good bit.
Concerned about chip out. Suggestions? Thanks.
It would be on a body like this one ( actually the one in my avatar pic);

If your bit is sharp, you should not have any issues.  I've routed many warmoth bodies and never had any problems with the finish chipping, or chipping of any sort.  If it's the stock warmoth finish, it just kind of melts when cut rather than tear.

Favorite neck mini humbucker is the dimarzio dp240.  I never do a direct mount, I always use a pickguard with the minis.  That said, the warmoth mini pickup pickguard rout has to be altered to make it fit right.  So ... remember different minis have different dimensions.

Take it in very small depth passes, about 1/16th", and it would be advisable to have dust collection direct to your router if you don't want to look like a jar of parmesan cheese exploded all over you.
