Rounding edges

For anyone who has ever built there own body or knows this off hand what size routing bit would i use to roundover the ends of the guitar body its a tele

Standard Telecaster body roundover bit is 1/8", which means you could almost just break the edges with a sanding block and get away with it. But, a router will produce a more consistent result.

1/8 radius... that seems a bit small... I guess I better check...

the radius on this guitar - the one I have here handy - clearly larger than 1/8 almost 3/16... but it could have been the sanding during finishing... it was a warmoth finished body.

they "used" to offer variable radius on the body edge, and state what it was, on the website... but I guess no more?

I didn't have a Tele here to check, so I looked it up. I thought 1/8" was pretty small, too. Looking at pictures...

It's a pretty square edge compared to something like a Strat, but I'd still call it 1/4" if I had to guess.

Not too long ago I eye-balled it on my jazz bass and I came to around 3/8''. A tele should be at least less than that.
But just use one of these to check: :)

1/4 inch is right on for a tele. I used a a 1/4 router bit for rounding off the edges on my home built guitar and it's the same as my tele.
