Here's my L5S work in progress, all I need to do now is wire the pickups, screw on the neck and set it up! What do you guys think?

Thanks guys

Rosewood laminate top on the body and headstock
the neck and body are maple
no inlays
stainless steel medium jumbo frets
thin neck contour (my only mistake, it feels extremely tiny compared to my les paul neck)
strings through body tune o matic bridge
vintage vibe charlie christian pickups
sperzel locking tuners, strap locks
concentric pots

gonna string it up with gauge 12 flats and it will be my jazz box

Good Gawd!
Without so much going on harwarewise, The beauty of the top really stands out! What kind of Truss rod Cover you gonna stick on there?

Yeah I'm really digging the way it turned out, I'm glad I went for less obstructive hardware.

Not too sure about the truss rod cover, I thought about just leaving it uncovered but perhaps I'll put on a blank chrome cover. What do you think?

Cool! I'm very very interested in those CC pickups, so if you write down your impressions when she's done that would highly appreciated.

That's one classy looking L5s, but of course I'm biased. Let me know how those VV Charlie Christians work out. I was really close to using those before Pete and I settled on the modified P-Rails design.

It looked liek the pups were GOLD, they are chrome right?

If so, then yeah a nickel or Chrome TRC would look neat-o.

Thanks, Timv. Yours is a beauty also, can't wait to see it completed. For my next project I'll definitely try my hand at finishing it myself like you've done.

The pups are chrome, must just be the lighting in the photo. All the hardware is chrome also. Anyone know of a website or company that makes nice chrome truss rod covers?

The guy from fretsonthenet.com makes good stuff. right now he's got a holiday rush and is not taking orders, but maybe in a few weeks things will slow down for him. I'm sure he'll at least answer e-mails. Maybe he has a chrome trc in stock?

+1.  Dave's a good guy.  He's where I get any Charvel or Jackson parts I need.
