I received my roasted maple neck last week. I applied two very thin coats of Tru-Oil each a day apart and then polished the back of the neck with Gun Stock Wax. I had installed at a professional guitar repair shop. The luthier said all it needed was a basic setup. Everything was perfect. It is beautiful!

How do you like the feel of the new neck?  Do you notice the frets feel different to what you had before?

I haven't used tru-oil, but I put Tung oil on a roasted maple neck that worked out fine.

The neck is much better than the neck it replaced. The prior neck was maple but had a very thick glossy finish on the back and the fretboard. It was OK on the fretboard but I prefer a satin finish on the back. The oil finish is perfect, front and back.

The previous frets were medium jumbo and were fine but wearing significantly after four years. These SS jumbo frets are very similar to the frets on my Ibanez RG Prestige - Very Nice!

The neck and the frets should last a very long time. I doubt that I will need to replace them.

I did place the Warmoth decal on the headstock over the weekend and sprayed a couple of satin clear coat over it for protection. It finishes off the guitar nicely.

The 'roasted' woods make such nice-looking necks. I have been really impressed with the ones I have seen. Very snazzy looking.
