Roasted maple (home oven cooking)

We don't get many cooking recipes around here, so here's a nicely cooked piece of maple over 12hours.
Most of it was at 320F, the first hour was at 280F and the last 3-4hours were at 360-375F.

Not sure what I'll do with it yet, maybe TRCs but that's going to be a lot of them. Speaking of TRCs, the other ones are koa and ziricote.

Nice job on the covers. That maple looks interesting after it's session in the tanning oven. :icon_thumright:
 
Don't know anything about cooking maple or much else, but my wife made me some Dark Chocolate Skull Cakes ...

I'm kinda surprised it comes out with all that definition. I'd expect it to fall apart a bit. Nice effect, though.

Be wasted on me, though. To me, cake is an excuse to eat frosting, which would probably wreck the appearance of something like that.
