Ring mod - in loop or out front?

It a modulation effect, definitely in the loop...  Really, who knows?  Where ever it makes it sounds the way you want.  The most fun I have ever had with a ring mod was using a cheapo mic into one and saying in as nasal of a voice as possible, "Exterminate!  Exterminate!"  Hours of entertainment.

It's so responsive to volume, and especially to feeding it two notes and contrasting their relative volumes against each other  :evil4: - first thing, for that to work. It's not a tame one. It works best with a not-woody, not-"warm" guitar. Feed it the solidbody with the Lawrences or Bare Knuckles....

"Stop the humanoid! Stop the intruder!"

I LOVE Ring Mods! Have they staged a comeback? I thought they went out with oscillator synthesizers!

It's a riing modulator fer cryin out loud. Does it matter where it goes? What you won't have the best signal to noise ratio on your bleeps and bloops or something?

Davros, is that you?

Haha, honestly, it's something I'll use as seasoning.  A lil' sprinkle here; a lil' sprinkle there.  I think it's great for the last measure of a solo.

you should put it back in the gig bag.  :icon_biggrin:

Haha, I'm with you.  I can't dance worth a shite when I go out with my GF, but put my pedal board in front of me and I'm like Christopher Walken tap dancing!  :laughing8:

I was just playing. I love effects, and frequently use too many.  :guitaristgif:

Davros, is that you?
Davros is channeled though Radioshack Realistic "Highball 2" microphones into Ring Modulators.  I don't understand the specifics, but it just seems to be that way.
