Ric bass neck pickups?

I'm in the process of building a bass that's supposed to be like a mixture between a Rickenbacker 4003 and a fender jazz. I need a little help with the electronics. I do not have a soldering iron, but I found a solderless jazz bass wiring harness. Would it be possible to use either a Rickenbacker high gain or toaster pickup in the neck position?

Can you post a picture of the harness?  (You'll probably need to set up an account with a photo-hosting service like Imgur)  As long as the pickup physically fits where you want it to, I don't think there's any limitation as to what type of pickups can be used.  Whether or not you like the sound of the pickup in a given position is up to you.

The wires go into the little gray piece at the back. I'm just not sure if anything that isn't a jazz bass pickup would be compatible with it.

Based on the stamping on the back, the pots appear to be 250k "A"-taper pots (which usually "audio" or logarithmic taper, but not always).  That appears to be an ObsidianWire harness, which I have no personal experience with, but it has pretty good reviews.  That particular harness also has a treble-bleed mod.

There's nothing obvious to me that stands out as being physically incompatible with a typical 2-wire Ric pickup of your choice.  However, if you go that route and decide you don't like the tone you're getting, you're less likely to be able to tweak the wiring or electronics than you would with typical point-to-point wiring (not a drop-in board).
