Replacing switch

I need to replace a standard 5 way switch on my strat. Don't ask why, but I have one of these five way - 4 pole strat switches laying around.

Am I able to wire this switch as I would a standard five way switch (typical strat wiring), and have it work as expected?

It is possible to wire it to work the same as a "standard" 5 way. Although you will need to use only two of the poles and use jumper wires on the switch for the in-between positions.

You also need to take note that the commons of the switch are different. See the post linked below for an explanation of how the switch works.
