Rant on Mailorder parts supplier

I ordered some tuners after searching far and wide for staggered tuners that were gold plated, non-locking, and had a 13/32" O.D.  I found them onthe Fender site, so I enter the Fender part # into google and a few mail order places pop up.  I call one, give him the part number, he finds it.  I double check, "These are staggered, right."  He replies, "Uh....yeah."

If they arrived and were as described, this wouldn't be a rant.  If they sent me the wrong item, and were replacing it with the right one, it wouldn't be a rant.  It's a rant because the item they sent has the correct part# but they are not in fact staggered like the description and employee confirmed.  In returning them, in the original packaging and resellable condition, I'm subject to a 15 to 30% restocking fee that I have to pay to reship just for the pleasure.  Good thing I thought to double check before ordering.

You know, you can argue about the benefits of brick and mortar vendors, and you can argue the benefits of Mail order, but there does not seem to be a answer between the cost difference.
I really feel for you on this, you try to save money and it cost you because the guy you trust does not know his head from his ass.
I have had the same trouble, The almighty dollar is just to much of a draw,

I wasn't trying to save money, just find the parts I need.  When I do my homework, find them, and double check what I'm ordering, it's wrong and I'm out of pocket through no fault of my own.

Chew his ass out and threaten to tell all your guitarist friends in person/online unless he rectifies the situation... i.e. hit him where it's gonna hurt.

FWIW, it was http://www.beyondeleven.com/

And these tuners:  http://www.beyondeleven.com/Fender-reg-American-Standard-Guitar-Tuners-p/fender-tuners-0990820200.htm
You can read down and it says Staggered Hight Array.  Hight?  That part number also says they're staggered on the Fender site.

I'm not returning them.  I guess they win.  Return shipping, the restock fee, plus a return to StewMac for the tool to center the pins on these, and possibly a restock fee plus return shipping.  I'd end up paying just as much just start over.

I'm not interested in starting a boycott campaign, but as always, buyer beware and maybe shop around a little harder if this site comes up.
