Also, get the klanch to make you some Indian rosewood back covers for the switch and control cavity.
Did he get a suspension or did he get hit with the ban stick?
Oh, I forgot about that, I just searched and couldn't find him on the members list. Seems he got the ol' 'Ban stick' and also deleted.

Damn

Sounding great! Glad you're sticking with P90s. Cream and chrome is my vote. I like the idea of that bigsby converter that dbw linked, that way if you end up hating the bigsby you just go TOM.

Sorry to go against the flow, but I think you should go with black P90s and hardware.  you can get a black bigsby, so that should be no problem.

BTW - I assume that you're gonna load it with Lollar P90s, Right?  That's really the only P90 game in town worth talk'in 'bout  :icon_biggrin:

chrome and cream - - there's already going to be so much dark on the top of this guitar. I'd go with gold barrel knobs  - also cream binding would be killer.

Single F-hole is better, functionally speaking, for the control layout on the lower half of the body.... So I'd go with that

I've just had an amazing idea.....

(Although I'm really digging the Lollar P90's thing.)  Just to try and keep this an 'All Warmoth' guitar, why not have a word with TroubledTrebble and see if he can knock up a one-off set of P90's.  We all know he's cool with Strat stes, and working on Tele sets.  How 'bout a P90 or two?  :dontknow:

Just a thought? :icon_thumright:

another option,
I got my P90s from Jon Moore.. he will make a custom set - you can tell him which magnet to use, and the # of winds for about $120 a set

Yeah I'm thinking so, they get such rave reviews everywhere.  Custom P-90's sounds decent, but I have little experience with owning a set at the moment.  I'm not sure what I'd ask for as a result.  I'm not ruling it out though.  :icon_biggrin:

Gold and Chrome are about equal so far, and most of you are leaning toward cream pickups.  Looks like at this rate I'll have everything ready to place the order on Monday!

He's still here. His username is 'theklanch'.

No, his IP address has been banned. He can't even view the site.

If you want to order some covers from him, let me know, and I'll pass along your info.

Wow, I had no idea you could get an 'ip ban' but it does make sense that they could do that. You've got to go Lollars - anyone who has played Lollars and something else, and prefer the something else, okay listen to them, otherwise I'm telling you it's an amazing pup. I've played with Gibson P90s, PRS P90s, had a Rio Grande, and there is just zero comparison. He's got a 50s wind, lower than your typical output, and a higher output one too, so you've got some options. They're great on the phone too, very helpful.

Yup.  I've bought and sold a lot of pickups.  I've bought exactly one Lollar.  But you would have to scheme on a Kyser Soze level to ever get me to give up that one pickup.  Not to put too fine a point on it, it is the single best pickup of any variety that I have ever heard.

A ban on an IP address would be very easy to do, technically, but it's also pretty pointless. A lot of people have dynamic IP addresses allocated by their ISP. Some of these change every few hours, others will change if you reset your internet connection. There are also situations where several people share one IP address (when you're behind a proxy or a natting router), and finally it's pretty easy to approach a web site with an IP address which is not your own, by making use of an open proxy. Oh, and there are probably a few dozen issues I'm not even aware of - I've not been heavily into these things lately.

It's a feature of this board and pretty much all message boards, though I'm surprised they'd do that. You can ban people in a number of different ways. But I guess the reason is to make sure the person just doesn't join up again under a new name. And if you use a cable modem or dsl, a lot of times your IP stays the same for a very long time. For instance, my IP address has been the same for over a year now. Even if I reset the modem I'll get the same address again. I'd have to stay off for a good amount of time and someone else would have to come a long and take my address. So it rarely changes. I know this because I have a ftp server on one of my computers and I rarely have to make any changes to the forwarding address I use.

Offhand I'd say that registering the IP address would make sense if it was ever reported to the authorities and the identity of the individual could be determined by forcing his ISP to reveal that information. I can hardly imagine that this step would be taken following some insult or some grumpy comment. I'd expect it to be reserved for cases of kiddie porn, fraud, threats, suspected terrorism links, and the like. In other cases, it would have made sense ten or fifteen years ago but now hardly. I agree with you that even dynamic IP addresses can linger for quite some time but when they do change it means that the ban would be passed along with it. Granted, little chance that the guy who receives your old IP address will also be on this board, but you can imagine that happening on facebook, you tube, msn or the like. In the same way whole universities or enterprise networks could be behind a single IP address. It's not a good idea.
