Questions too stupid to even be posted in the 'The "Questions Too Stupid To Dese

By far the best way to get tremolo is a Leslie speaker. (For the Hammond player, one of these is as essential to tone and sound as pickups and tube amps are to guitarists.) Anything else is just pitifully attempting to simulate a Leslie (which is pretty near impossible.)

Unless you have one of these, which is basically the same thing but with a Fender logo on it:

Or one of these, which is one of the coolest things in existence, and even more awesome than the Vibratone because it spins, has variable speed controlled by foot pedal, and can create anywhere from basic tremolo sounds to crazy doppler effect:

meh. you need the spinning bass baffle with the ginormous speaker to really get good tone, though. that thing don't look like its tube or nothing either.

I have heard that thing in concert 4 times.  I cried.  Not joking.  You can read about it here: http://www.specimenproducts.com/amps/janus_horn.html
It is an amazing piece of machinery that produces a very unique sound.

Unfortunately I do not own a Vibratone.  But I totally want one.

Go Leslie. I know they're almost the same thing, but I can assure you of a Leslie's awesomeness, whereas I cannot help you when it comes to Vibratones. The one thing that bothers me about them is the fact that they don't have horizontal side slits for the top or bottom horns. seems to me if you have a spinning horn, you want it to be able to blast in all directions.

Finding an old one in good working order would be a crap-shoot; you can get a new model cheaper:

Somebody on the board has one of those, Tonar?

um, I bought a fully working Hammond B2 and a vintage Leslie 122 for $125 less than that.  :icon_scratch:

You just gotta shop around. (note, they often come as a better overall deal when paired with an organ for some reason. I could easily resell just the organ for $1200, probably more.)
