Question re: online custom body builder

Hey all! I’m playing around with the online custom body builder, and when it comes to the body finish, the only choice is no finish or clear. Am I missing something here?

Available finish options are sometimes limited by other choices you have made. Which body and what options are you looking at?

Soloist body. I’ve tried both carved top and flat top, also tried choosing various woods. Always end up with no finish/clear finish as my only options.

I just tried it and got no finish, clear, transparent, dyes and burst with the alder and maple top.

Which woods are you selecting?

For example, Mahogany with a Koa top will give only No Finish or Clear.

Don't know Bro, I get finish options on flat and carved top Soloists. Different ones depending on the options chosen, but there none the less. (Screen shots attached.) Check your cooky settings, maybe reload the page or try a reboot?

AFAIK it's about the lam top choice - exotic and/or dark woods like rosewood, bubinga etc. don't get any options except clear as a finish. Likewise, figured maple tops don't allow any opaque finishes.

This is just in the builder though - if you call them, they can double-check that you really want to put a tobacco burst that you won't be able to see on a rosewood top, or cover that $400 unique choice quilt maple top in goblin flake.

What wood/finish combo are you thinking of?

Exactly. If you look at the second screen shot in my last post, you'll see that the flame maple top only has Clear, Transparent, Dye, and Burst finishes as options. But hey, who wouldn't want to cover a $400 unique choice quilt maple top in goblin flake!  :icon_jokercolor:
