Question of Warmoth installed nut...

Theyre definitely glued in pretty solidly, but i ve never tried to #extract one. i would say to not expect to get it out in one piece. Like, if youre replacing it then who cares if you destroy it. You also cant get the cheese back in the stuffed crust pizza once you squeeze it out but it never stops my nephew from trying

Perhaps its a question of how big your hammer is.
 
Are we talking about a Strat or Tele type nut or a tiltback type? If itls a Fender style sunken one it's not going to be easy to get out. Care is required perhaps a little carefully directed heat before attempting to push it out sideways. Or you may have to go with JohnnyHardtail's solution, but be carefull how deep you saw.
If it's a surface mount nut like a Les Paul uses, then score any finish around it with a sharp knife and carefully tap it toward the headstock... :headbang:
