I wouldn't direct that at Texans.  Not every Texan is a Longhorn fan.  There are just as many A & M fans as Longhorn fans it seems.  Here in North TX, for reasons I don't understand, there are cars with OU stickers and TX plates.

With the NFL, I root for the home team.  I'm not from the Dallas area but live there now, the Oilers aren't around anymore, it doesn't feel right to root for the Titans, and the Texans came around after I left the Houston area, so I'm a Cowboys fan.  College football, that's an enigma to me.  There's fans of a school that have no affiliation with it whatsoever.  There's Texas fans that didn't go to UT, nor any of their family members, yet they're fans.

very true! in states like texas, california, florida, and a few others there are SO many schools to choose from it's ridiculous. hard to guess who anybody in florida would cheer for

teams' fans are all over the place. being from about an hour outside of bmore you might expect me to be a ravens fan, but i'm a diehard redskins fan. there are still a good number of colts fans around here, and even more people who refuse to cheer for the colts or anything in baltimore (so they all became redskins fans). and with colleges it's even more confusing. i've never been much of a maryland fan, but i love USC. actually besides the people form my high school who actually go to UMD i don't really know any big terps fans.

Yeah.. I'm a very Texan, Texan.. and I don't like UT.. in fact I don't know many people in my circles of friends that are.. but that was a funny game!

I'm UCLA grad school '08 and I was tickled blue and gold. To win convincingly with a power running game, no less! 8 pass attempts!
oh I loved it. Of course I know you're not all longhorns fans, that would be like assuming every californian is a USC fan.
