Queen should reunite with THIS GUY!!!

Good for him. I'm sure it pays better than teaching a bunch of brats who don't want to learn <grin>

Plus, look at some of these other guys. Robin Trower is still rockin' on the road, and he's about a million years old. The Stones all died of old age, abuse and maladventure years ago, but nobody told them so they keep selling seats. The list is long. But, it's gotta be extra tiring for those guys. If you're not going hungry and you're still warm and dry, I'd think you'd want out of that business.

it sounds like Freddie just double tracked a vocal take......  :o

Wow. That Martel definitely has an uncanny physical and vocal resemblance to Freddie. I think it'd be much cooler if he found his own way to use that voice and set about making his own music.

I agree! he still can sing Queen to get some money untill (and if) his projects take flight...

I don't think he'l find his own way, if he doesn't someday get discovered by the boys in queen, we will never hear from this guy again.

except on youtube, I gotta think that someone somewhere has shown these videos to queen , and they are mulling it over now. Maybe they retired, I doubt it

Good on you for posting these. I obviously lacked the inclination to investigate, but I don't think that makes the observation less valid.

Wow! nice hachkid, I can admid when I'm wrong, I like this kid, and without Queen he may just make it

it actually kinda does...he's not putting on to sound like Freddie, that's just how his voice sounds. he's been a professional musician for the last decade, and has gotten lots of recognition in the christian/worship music industry...I think he's found a way to use that voice and make his own music.....

Alfang, I have to say, I think the guy is great, too. I'm agnostic, but when music is well written, it's obvious. I've listened to a little bit of Downhere, and I have to say, the music is really well written. his voice is just a joy to listen to, as well.

no voice lessons....... :o :o :o :o :o :o

also, I found out the reason Marc made that video is because it was a competition that Roger Taylor is putting on called "Queen Extravaganza" in which he's putting together a full tribute band of sorts.....anyway, I put in an audition video.... :)

You're obviously entitled to your assessment of validity, and I'm obviously not going to sway your opinion. It's shame, too, because it's pretty ridiculous to react so powerfully to a misstatement so insignificant. But if we're going to be ridiculous about this semantic absurdity, I'll contribute.

I didn't assert that he was "putting on." I responded, to the idea of him being a Mercury mimic, that I prefer -- in his case and in general -- for people to use their voices for their own purposes, regardless of similarities to established artists. As you've proven, he has already done this. However, since I hadn't researched him, I didn't know that. So I made a general statement that really only reflects the reality of his individual accomplishments. That he has already contributed his own music to the world hardly undermines the sentiment, when I made my statement, that I felt he has a lot to contribute.
