Does anyone else think that quartersawn wood should be an option when ordering a custom neck?  I would imagine that it would have an add-on charge, but I for one would pay it.

Thoughts?

It is an option -- call Warmoth.  I ordered by 1st tele neck with quartersawn maple.  I like it....

How long ago was that?  I just got off the phone with them and they said they don't get quartersawn very often, and that its not really an option.

You'll need to be more specific.  Quartersawn maple is a standard guitar neck option.  (non-tiltback.)  What wood(s) do you have in mind?

Got it.  I'm only interested in tiltback heads.  That's probably where the confusion was.

Thanks for clearing that up, Wyliee.

OK, would it be possible to consider tiltback heads with quartersawn maple as an option?  I picked up one from the showcase yesterday that was quartersawn for the straight part of the neck, but the headstock wasn't.

It depends on the specific headstock style.  Email me with your specifics and we'll see what we can work out!

I wish quarter sawn was a filter option, I got a client that wants quarter sawn maple w/rosewood fretboard, yeh he's a tone freak morron, but what ya gonna do?

Damn, I work for free, because I love it and I'm not that busy. but your right, I should.

Why work for free?  Just because you love it doesn't mean that you shouldn't make some change for your efforts!

Alfang, there's no shame in making a buck off of something you enjoy. Long as you provide a good service and are fair, you're already WAY ahead of the game. I think most of these "guitar techs" don't know any more than you can figure out by yourself with an internet connection and something to practice on (like, for instance, way too many Warmoths).
