Nothing special, just a basic / simple / easy strat build.
Was kind-of an experiment for using scartozi bridge.
Which …… All fits great, I must say !!  :icon_thumright:
Pup combo sound nice together.
The Wenge neck, was factory sanded to 220 (as all are)
So I attacked it  :evil4:  (the back only) with some 3M sandpaper slowly going from 320 ---- 800.
Talk about even smoother now.
I've done that with some other raw necks I have too.

Both Body and Neck from the showcase.

Build Spec's ………

Body ...
Chambered
Swamp Ash
High Grade Flame Maple Top
Rear Rout H x H
Contoured Heel
Purple Dye finish on Top
Transparent Purple on the Back
Routed for 6 hole trem ….. BUT used scartozi bridge  :icon_biggrin:

Neck …
Warmoth Pro
Wenge
Wenge Fretboard
Stainless Steal Frets SS6115
1 11/16" Nut width
Graph Tech White TUSQ Nut
10 -16" Compound Radius,
Standard Thin Neck
Mother Of Pearl Dot Inlay
Sperzel Lok Tuners
Custom Dougie Neck Plate

Hardware...
Aluminium Scartozi Bridge
Graph Tech Saddles
Seymour Duncan 59' Humbucker  (Neck)
Seymour Duncan Custom 5 Trembucker  (Bridge)
Chrome Hum Rings
3 Way Switch with Chrome Tip
2 x 500K CTS Pots
Orange Drop Capacitor
1 x Vol, 1 x Tone
Reflective Knobs
Position Pointers
Schaller Strap Locks
Many thanks to Doug, Adam and all the crew at Warmoth.  :eek:ccasion14:
Very happy, as per usual.  :toothy10:

I'll tell you something and I'm sure Bagman will back me up on this.

Wenge / Wenge is a perfect match with any Purple Body finish.
When playing this  :dontknow:  it almost has the purple look up and down the neck.

How can that be  :icon_scratch:  when it's a chocolate coloured wood.

Cheers Updown  :blob7:

Will add some better outdoor pic's when I get them.
Here's just a couple washed out indoor ones for now.

Nice work as always, Updown.  I get the thematic unity of the reflector knobs, but I don't personally like'em.  Totally sound choice in the context of this guitar, though.  Looking forward to the next one!

Ha ha ha ... when I said a simple basic build, I meant that even thou it has 4 conductor pickups.
I've just used basic wiring, NO fancy switches etc, 1 x Vol and 1 x Tone, basic 3 way switch.

Great sounding combo, in fact a perfect match, they sound really good.  :guitarplayer2:

More pic's ...

So Murray, what are your thoughts on the Scartozi bridge?

Comfort:
Tone:
Set up:

:dontknow:

Man, you put together some gorgeous Strats!! What a great
companion-piece to that incredible black-quilt one (which I would have to say is my all-time fav-
orate non-traditional Strat)!! Hot & Tasty!!  :hello2:

Doug ...
Comfort) ... VERY VERY VERY  :icon_thumright:
Tone) ... No real difference that I can hear to anything else I have, be it hard tail or trem's.
Set up)  ....  :dontknow:  .... Easy.
Very solid and stable, stays in tune very very well. It should, it's now a hard tail  :laughing7:
I jammed foam into all 5 trem springs, just to take away any Ping. If there is any  :dontknow:
Haven't even cut a piece of wood to fill trem route between block & wall.

This one is a quick dual humbucker guitar, that hangs on the wall to grab fast, when needed.
Lovely this combo too  :guitarplayer2:

Thank you  :icon_biggrin:

That Black Strat you talk about, is right at the top of my fav list ...... don't you worry about that !!
Simple ...... But perfect in every way.
When recording stuff wanting Humbuckers, that gets 1st choice as the main guitar  :icon_thumright:
But I'm starting to get much better mix of sounds these days with the Tele's I've added to the stable.

Funny that, I never use to like Tele's

Was this a six hole trem to start or a 2-point trem? Was the point of this bridge to cover the holes from the Trem or for other design reasons?

It was and still is a 6 hole trem, that bridge is made to convert the 6 hole trem to a hardtail. No real other design reasons than to make an acoustic looking bridge for a strat or tele solid body..

Ok thanks for the info. I have a new Jagmaster body with a six hole trem and I'd really like to make it a hardtail and that was my plan until I found out the current finish is in such good shape. But your use of this bridge has got me thinking. Maybe something like one of those cut down telecaster bridges might cover enough to work and make my jagmaster a little bit different which is always a plus for me with a project guitar. Some of those Tele bridges can be either a through body or top loader . . .

Yep what Doug said  :icon_thumright:
Here's a closer more detailed look at a similar one I put on to replace a 6 hole trem on another of mine.
http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=19185.0

Cagey has one designed for a Tele, little smaller than the one I have here.

If your Jagmaster is routed for a 6 hole trem,
:icon_scratch:  how you going to put that (in pic) bridge on it ? as the screw holes are where the block would be.

All you need is one of the one's I've used.
If you want a scartozi bridge just need to PM him.  :icon_thumright:

Did I say they are very comfy  :icon_biggrin:

Id put a wood block behind the bridge in the Trem cavity, but only if it was completely covered by the bridge. What bridge to use is in the early planning stages. I'll be stringing it up with the trem that came on it when I get the new pickguard and redo the wiring which was a bleepin mess of different gauge wires and electrical tape.
