Progress so far

Last week, I started the finish on the neck, and completed it this past friday. All that’s left is a level and crown, then install the hardware.

Tonight, I started applying the WudTone finish on the body. I chose the Surfer Girl color. So far, I like it. It will get a little greener over the next two coats.

The second coat will be applied tomorrow.

The Wudtone is kind of fun to apply. It's a different application than spraying or brushing. It should look quite good when you have it done.

Got the finish done, so I put it together to see if the all the hardware fit correctly. So far,so good. Next I need to do a fret level and crown. I waiting for the pick guard to arrive so I can wire up the electronics.

Thanks guys. This project is turning out to be easier than I thought. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for so long, but I kept talking myself out of it because I would read on forums that a pro tech or luthier would needed to put it together correctly. I have since learned different.
I think this will lead to many more builds.
