Products for a Transparent Red Finish?

I want to do this finish by staining, clear coat, base spray and an outside burst
what colors and products would you recommend?

I've seen his threads but some of the products he uses are hard to get in small supplies

Okay, I'm a noob, but one of the great things about this board is someone will correct me if I'm out to lunch.

How about filling the grain (assuming ash; no fill required for alder), shoot with clear lacquer to seal it, apply your pinstripe mask, then shoot red-tinted lacquer toner with a preval doohickey, then do your black burst edge, and finally remove your masking tape and shoot more clear?

All possible with stuff you can pick up at Woodcraft or online.

Yes it is an alder body and like that was what I was going  to do im just not sure which brand of products to get and I most likely will not do the pinstripe
