Preferred Strap Locks

Exactly. I've seen guys ignore this and then be surprised when the nut came loose after years of gigs :)

That's also why I go the punk-rock route and add duct tape over the strap/straplocks for added peace of mind!

All I use are over-sized strap buttons. K.I.S.S method works here. I've never, ever had a strap come off one of these. I put them on all of my guitars.

Same here.  I have never had a guitar strap slip ever.  To be fair I don't spin my guitar around my body.  I have been known to jump around but that is about as crazy as it gets.
