Preferred Strap Locks

The finish on my Dunlop straplocks was definately inferior to my Schallers.

Exactly. I've seen guys ignore this and then be surprised when the nut came loose after years of gigs

Schallers without a doubt! Have then on 2 (soon to be 3) electrics and on one bass.

That's also why I go the punk-rock route and add duct tape over the strap/straplocks for added peace of mind!

All I use are over-sized strap buttons. K.I.S.S method works here. I've never, ever had a strap come off one of these. I put them on all of my guitars.

Same here.  I have never had a guitar strap slip ever.  To be fair I don't spin my guitar around my body.  I have been known to jump around but that is about as crazy as it gets.
